Messy Salesforce data does not happen all at once.

It happens slowly.
 

Someone skips a field because they are busy.
Someone creates a duplicate because they did not check first.
One team records information one way, another team records it differently.
Old fields hang around long after they are useful.
Reports stop matching reality.

Then people start saying, “Salesforce data is unreliable.”

Before long, the admin becomes the person everyone expects to clean it up.

But data hygiene cannot sit with one person forever.
